Clutch and Clutch Linkage
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with the clutch?
I have a 350 and a stock 3 speed transmission with 3 on the column. We cannot get the clutch to engage even with the linkage adjusted all the way. We have managed to get the shifter linkage right but cant figure out the clutch. Any pictures or tips would be great |

Without pics or more detailed info on the situation it is difficult to give good ideas, but off the top it sounds as though there is not enough travel in the linkage - when pedal is released there is not enough rod travel to enable the pressure plate/disc/flywheel to mate. If it is not a rod travel or rod length issue, then it is probably internal to the clutch mechanism/fork/release bearing aspects. This is just a WAG with the info available.

your problem might be with the clutch fork pivot ball. you can adjust it on the bell housing. it will be located on the upper drivers side of the bellhousing, on the flat surface that the tranny/bellhousing mate. it might be partially covered by the transmission mounting flanges.
did you replace the clutch or flywheel or anything eles? |

There are two style throwout bearings, a "short" one and a "tall" one which would make a difference in the travel ???

The throwout bearings are matched to the pressure plate. The long one if installed where a short one is needed will keep the clutch from engaging.
The short one if installed where a long one is needed will keep the clutch from releasing. Jim

I suppose you mean that you can't get the clutch to dis-engage?
Do you have the right clutch fork? |

well we bought a new fork and it matches the old one perfect and we have a whole new clutch.
The clutch wont engage at all. We can get it in neutral but if we put it in gear and press the clutch in the truck wont move. From talking to the auto tech teacher he thinks its the throw out bearing. My friend is going to check that today as i have come down with the flu. |

Assuming a new clutch installed? I've also seen the clutch disc installed backwards. Wrong side facing the flywheel. But this causes the clutch to not release.
