Re: dakota digital dash
I've never heard of anyissues on them, but they just aren't all that popular on the 67 - 72 crowd.

Re: dakota digital dash
I believe the 67-72 crowd doesn't care for them too much, because they create an "80's digital" look to the inside of the classic 67-72 truck. I would rather build a nice Autometer gauge set-up in maybe a Covan dash....that will get everyone drooling!!!

Re: dakota digital dash
my thoughts exactly. Makesme think of the barbie vette.
Street rod guys used them a lot about 10 - 15 years ago.... I dunno if they are stillpopular in that crowd though. |

Re: dakota digital dash
For the $500+ you'll spend they have some nice gauges out now... combo types are very popular too....

Re: dakota digital dash
I've got a set in my 48. For ease of installation and the amount of features they have, they're hard to beat, but you have to like that look. I'm putting a set of ProComps in my 69 Suburban and will probably be doing the same thing for the 67 CrewCab.

Re: dakota digital dash
The Reason I Was Considering Them Was I Need A Electronic Speedometer. The Trans I,am Going To Use In My 1 Ton Dually Build Has No Provision For A Speedometer At All And Dakota Has The Universal Glue On Magnets For A Electronic Sensor So I Can Get A Electronic Speedo To Work. I,d Rather Have A Autometer, S/w Vdo Etc Myself Also. Any Thoughts On My Speedo Problem ? The Trans I,am Going To Be Useing Is A Dana Spicer 3053a O/d 5 Speed From A Duce Military Truck Mated To A Cummins 6 Bt.

Re: dakota digital dash
You can get an electronic speedometer in the ProComp series that will be able to use the input from the Dakota digital sender (glue on magnets).
