Power Windows
I plan on putting power windows in with my 1 piece side windows and i was wondering about what kits work, what kits dont, etc. I like the idea of the autoloc kit that uses your stock window crank. I couldnt find it on their website though. Does any other company make this kind of kit? i am hoping to get a kit for about $150. Any help is appreciated.

I just read on another post that the a-1 window kits will work for the 1pc glass. I bought my kit for around $200 i think. If you do a google search on a-1 electric they should be the first thing to pop up.

I used the Electric Life kit on my 1 piece windows. They come with the regulators and it's a bolt in deal. I put power windows (A-1 I beleive) on a friend's truck but he had the regular glass. I had to cut out the lower window stop. As far as installation the Electric Life was easier. On mine I notice as with the manual windows, the one piece tends to flop around when down an inch or more. Really good to get flies out of the truck drivin down the road, ya know?

Summit has them for $239.95. My swiches cost 30.00. Maybe a little over your budget. I added them about 3 years ago as my Christmas present. I just filed out my door panel (72 plastic panels) where the window crank was. Looks pretty good.

No I don't have a pic. I used the black plastic switches that are lighted.

I have the power windows that use the original regulators. I am not real happy with em. After two years of not a lot of use the motors are getting slow and if the window channels aren't smooth and/or lubed you may sit and wait for the window to roll down or up. I replaced all my channel felts and belt moldings and such when I redid my truck but still had to spray a little silicone lube in them for the windows. I am gonna try the Electric Life bolt in kits when money allows. My advice would be go with the best you can afford.

What year truck? From what little I know, the side panel design drives a decision or two on which power windows work how.

I bought my switches from A-1 as well, i got the black lit switches and the matching power door lock switches too. I dont remember the prices but i know i paid over $100 for them. I shopped around and other places have them a few dollars cheaper but a-1 was shipping fast and for free so i went with them. They are friendly and helpful too.

Does any make a kit that doesn't use the original style window regulator? I would prefer a worm type, with a drive cable attached to the motor.
