Those switches turn off the cruise control when you either step on the brake or the clutch pedals. You should be able to run a jumper and connect the 2 wires on the clutch side once you do the swap.
It is possible that the "clutch" switch will unplug from the harness a little further up the line. If it does then that is the way to go. No sense having any more of a rats nest of wires under the dash than there already is.

The cruise wiring harness has plugs for both pedals even if you dont need it if you have an auto... you can send the clutch switch here. lol.

That sounds like the delco unit I have that I got from Jerry Moss. The switch with the vacuum lines going to it is the one that disengages it when you step on the brake. The little chain is used to set the "depth" of the brake pedal. If you step on the brake, it releases the switch and cuts off the vacuum to the solenoid on the back of the carb. The brain should say delco on it somewhere. The switch for the clutch, mine doesn't have. I can take some pics if you need them tomorrow. Jeff.

Is it controlled from the turn signal? Mine is. I don't have it at work with me, but I'll take pics tomorrow so you can see how it is installed. Jeff.

Hmmm, the switch is the only thing that sounds like what I have. My parts are scattered all over the basement at the moment...but there was no black box involved.

Ok, here's some pics of the unit. My digicam is kind of sucky tho, so bear with me. By the way its a DANA unit, not Delco like I thought. You can't make out the tag in the photo, but thats what it says.

Here is a (faint) picture of my switch. I don't have my digi-cam here, so i can't get a better pic right now.
This is not the correct one for '70, but I think it is the right one in a '69. like stated, there is no resume button, and no slide switch, just the one in the end of the lever. |
