more disk brake conversion questions?!?
Does anyone know why or if the disk brakes from a 70-72 will work on a 67 1/2 ton (other than the 5 to 6 lug wheels). I want disks up front but still want the origional look of 6 lug.

i had a list of the chevy parts that are needed to do this conversion but lost it. it was on the message board but where? does anyone know where to find it again?

I believe that you need to switch balljoints and tie-rod ends. Other than that, Im not sure.

If you have the complete swap do that, it's easier than figuring out the ball joints and tie rod ends.
All the stuff will work or you can use the later model stuff and buy 6 lug rotors |

the article i had was a list of all the chevy part numbers (from the Hollander interchange manual) needed to make the bolt on conversion. these parts were from a late 70's truck. it also listed a couple parts that were required to be changed over to make the thing fit. i beleave you needed to use 67 3/4 ton outer tie rod ends to fix the newer spindle steering arm. other than that it was a direct fit.

I FOUND THEM AGAIN! Here are the 2 best threads i found about the 6-lug disk swap. I have them saved on my computor but here are their location on the board, hope they're still there for everyone else.
