What mufflers are you running on your truck?
What brand and or style of mufflers are you running on your truck, and how well do you like them? I am trying to decide what I want to run for mufflers. I may have a lead on some used Flowmasters that are in good shape, but I don't know if I want to run them. So let's hear what you all are running for mufflers and how you like them.

I am running Borlas in my truck. IMO they are the best muffler to get.

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
These were all with a 350-
I have had a true dual exhaust with Bullit Mufflers (next gen glasspacks); I didn't care for the sound. I paid a fortune for a true dual exhaust with a crossover and Bullit mufflers. It didn't have the deep throaty sound like I hoped. I have had a Single Flowmaster 50 series SUV delta flow 3" in/out... too quiet for my taste. You could barely even tell it was aftermarket unless you stomped on it. I currently have a single Flowmaster 40 series delta flow 3" in/out and I love it. It is the best sounding exhaust I have run to date. The Delta flows give you a great sound but lower the inside noise and resonance quite a bit. So on the outside, it sounds like a standard 40 series, but you don't go insane on a road trip like a 40 series. 40 series delta flow Flowmasters would have my vote. I would do it again.

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
2 1/2" I/O 50 series delta flow flowmasters.
I think they sound pretty good however if I ever ditch em' I want to try the Dynomax Ultra Flow straight through mufflers. This article is kinda old but it has some good points when you're putting together an exhaust system. http://www.pontiacstreetperformance....p/exhaust.html B |

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
LMC dual turbo exhaust kit.... it sucks Everything fit OK, but I wish I had different mufflers, they sound "weak."

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
I had 40 series flowmasters on 330 HP crate motor, 2 1/2 exhaust with crossover, liked the sound in town but on the road at 70 the constant roar got old. I changed to magnaflo, and like them a lot better.

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
i run magnaflows on everything i have, mellow when driving normal but they bark if you smash the go pedal. my girlfriends 5 year old loves it when i rap it up and set off car alarms. i've worked in a muffler shop since '85 and i've tried every muffler you can imagine and i always go back to my magnaflows. one thing i never see mentioned about flowmasters is the heat problem, if you decide to use them, be sure to install heatshields, especially you guys with wood beds.a buddy of mine had a 71 GMC longhorn with a big block in it and it caught fire towing a trailer over the grapevine. his mufflers had at least an 8inch air gap between the top of the muffler and the bottom of the bed. they were done at another shop and had what i thought was plenty of air gap but i ended up lowering them another few inches and he had a aluminum diamond plate floor made for it.

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
I have dual SS Magnaflows on my truck. I love em & most places I stop at around town (bank, liquer store, etc) I get compliments from strangers about how good they sound.
I have the Flowmaster Super 40 muffler on my '01 Cavalier. That sound is freakin sweet!! Basically, take the original 40 series muffler, make the sound deeper & less noise in the cabin... you get the Super 40. Best of both worlds!!

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
glad to hear folks talking about Borla exhaust. i've been a big fan of their exhaust on v6 sport sedans, but have yet to experience the exhaust on a v8. glad there are options besides flowmaster, magnaflow, and glass packs.

i will be running dual cherry bombs..they are about 18 to 24 inches long..look like they are stainless or somthing like that..i gonna run these because i got them off a parts truck.they are almost new..im gonna dump them right in front of the axle..should be loud,,but maybe not since they are so long..

Did you get your Magnaflows in Saskatoon, and if yes where cause I'm gonna need mufflers in the next year or two.

I'm running a couple of cheap turbo mufflers. Sounds pretty good for the price.

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
My toy runs Hooker comps, with 2 1/2 " pipe/ H pipe, with a set of 50's flows mounted about a ft behind the cab. the 2 1/2 " tail pipes tip up over the axle, around the fuel cell, & exit through the rear bumper, with a set of stainless "penciltips"......not a bad system for $ 260-270 (from the headers all the way to the azz end)! I do work part time in a muffler shop, & did the system in the after hrs, & the prices I paid for parts was a smokin deal, but I did all the work L

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?
I have 2 1/2 inch duals with Edelbrock RPM mufflers with 4" x24 chrome tips exiting behind the rear wheels. Noise isn't bad in the cab until you kick the 4 barrel in.
