New Project - '72 GMC C1500
Hey everyone -
I guess I should introduce myself: NW Florida Born and Bred University of Florida Alumnus and Rabid Gator Fan! I recently graduated from Law School and I am waiting on my Bar results (Sept. 21) Enough about that, on to the reason I am here. I just purchased my first project truck this evening: $900 '72 GMC C1500 Runs great but doesn't stop so well. Some rust, but nothing major. From what I can tell, the previous owner put a 350sb in it and an automatic tranny with a floor shifter (I would like to put this back in the column eventually). I don't know much of the history because it was sold to me by the previous owner's widow and she just wanted to get rid of it. It had been sitting in her backyard for about 5 years. I was amazed that all it took was some jumper cables, some gas, and starter fluid to fire it up. I have never worked on a vehicle before in my life but have always wanted 'an old truck' - so I am going to be learning from the ground up. Looks like the boards are super active with lots of great ideas and help. I will post pictures tomorrow and figure out how to navigate the forums a bit better. I look forward to many frustrations and exciting milestones with you guys! UPDATE - PICTURES: Last edited by czarcaustic; 08-17-2009 at 11:16 AM. Reason: Added Pictures |

Re: New Project - '72 GMC C1500
Quick question ...
How can I tell if my new toy is a Super Custom or a Sierra? Looks like it is most definitely a '72 GMC C1500 fleetside swb - but I don't know the trim package.
