This is what I consider a rust free truck. It is for sale and it's sitting at my bodyman's shop. I don't think u want to know what the ideas are, going through a couple of guys heads.

The miles are actual.

Actually Calvin is thinking about buying it for the front clip and the bed. I want the cab. The guy told me 6,000 but I think it can be had for less. Calvin is working on one now for a guy and he can make his money back pretty easy.

Yes its a shame to break a truck up like this, but when you are creating new trucks from it it isn't so bad.

I disagree. I think it's very wrong to destroy a low mileage truck like that and Frankenstein it to make a new truck. That truck with the mileage it has is not only a work of art, but an intact piece of history worthy of showcase in a museum.

IMO, whoever is thinking about tearing up that truck is incosiderate and should look for parts somewhere else. They should take on this one for a quick resto and sell it to somoene that will actually take care of it. Several boardmembers would kill to have a truck that nice and there's talk of butchering it? That's just insane...if not dumb (no offense

).

EDIT: PS - anyone who says that people should "get over it" or "there's plenty more out there" is missing a huge thing - these trucks are NOT a renewable resource. Everyone you kill means that's one less in the world for people to enjoy (especially if you could have just used repop parts or gotten parts from an already butchered truck on the forum). We probably lose several every day with them going to the junkyard or crusher every day and people are just happy a pig in crap to hack em up and sell em on eBay. If you butcher a truck like this to make another one, you're effectively helping to make this era of truck extinct, which SUCKS. You're no better than the people buying trucks just to tear them down and sell em on fleabay in my book. If you keep up this attitude of "there are plenty more, they're a dime a dozen", you'll quickly make these trucks extinct.

Man! I can't believe the condition of the door sills and floor. I saw a '67 4 wheel drive like that in a Wyoming junkyard, the bed was a little beat up, but no rust anywhere. That's a heck-of-a nice truck! Somebody buy it whole and don't let
'em bust 'er up... FAST!

There`s cabs,clips and beds out there to build trucks out of.I`d draw a line on tearing down such a survivor.Just because it`s not in the form you would want:shortbed/big block CST/4wd/whatever,doesn`t make it ok to ruin.Add that to 8 cents and you`ll have a dime.
