1970 GMC engine swap
I am taking a 396 turbo 400 out of this truck and installing a 350 so my teenage son can drive it. Are the motor mount stands different? Does engine move forward or back etc? I am just looking for some advice on what I may encounter. This is an awsome forum.

I think you can just put it in place of the big block with out any issues.
But to answer your question, the stands are different.

Everything should drop right in. You might have to get the short style water pump and make sure to use the 454 flexplate.

any easy way to identify the stands? You mean use the flexplate from the 396? Also i may use a 283 I already have, its from a 1967 Elcamino would I use the same flex plate and if so is there a starter prblem?

If you just pull the engine, the small block will bolt right in with the big block stands and mounts. Check your flexplate on the 350 and see if the torque convertor bolts line up on the convertor lugs
