satin black for hood

I have a 1969 chevy 1/2 ton swb painted yellow.I have a black tonneau cover on the bed, anyway,I had this idea to paint the flat part of the hood satin black, like they did back in the 60's and 70's.I thought this might look good and kinda balance out the look and all.I have dropped the truck 4/6 with 17" wheels, more custom than stock.I would appreciate everybodys opinon- for or against! thanks, Mark

might look good. They paint the hood of school buses like that and I think it looks good. why don't you use the photo shop section in the general forums area, and post a picture of the hood and someone will paint it for you.

I've thought about doing the same thing, just on the very top portion. I have seen Kansas State trucks doing this for years. I believe it has something to do with relieving eye strain.

Re: satin black for hood

The Air Force [late WWII and post-War] used to paint the tops of the noses of military aircraft flat black on an overall silver/aluminum finish to eliminate daylight glare for the pilots. Around Viet Nam, they went back to camouflage.
Might look good.
