Shifter, what do you use?
Hi guys,
i need a shifter for my 81 C10, I would love to have a floorshifter but i dont know with. German Streetlaws are pretty strict and it has to have some kind of display for the gear you are in, a "reverse lock" and a "Neutral Safety Switch". Oh and it sould fit a TH400 with reverse shift pattern... Does anybody here use a custom shifter? if yes, could you post some pix so I get an idea how to install and where? Would be awesome! Thx logan / Thomas

I have the B&M light truck Mega Shifter, it has all the bells and whistles that you mentioned. Good Luck!

Re: Shifter, what do you use?
Im going to agree with 87CD and second B&M or a Hurst for a shifter
they have to be street legal and that will incorporate all you need to comply with the laws

Re: Shifter, what do you use?
most people build a large/tall console to put it in or you can get like a v-matic that is tall like a 4 speed manual shifter.

Does anybody have pictures of installed shifters? I need something to go with the 540 BB and the modified transmission (reverse shift pattern)...

Re: Shifter, what do you use?
Not mine, but I,m thinking about doing this. Just built a tower and covered it with carpet. Looks real nice and plenty of room for a middle passenger. This is a truck that has been coming to our cruise-ins.

Re: Shifter, what do you use?
Here's a pic of mine, I don't have the cover installed yet. It may seem alittle low but I don't have any problems with it.
