Tbi 350 dies down when started?
Hi everyone First post,
I have a 1987 chevy v10 with a tbi 350. Sometimes when I start it up, it dies down right away to really low rpms them jumps back up to 800-1200. Then when I shut if off it doesn't start right up. it cranks over a couple extra times them it should. So what could be the problem. I just want to know if it's something major or small. |

hi welcome it sounds like your fuel pump is getting weak it is located in the fuel tank or you may be lucky the fuel pump relay may be going bad its on the firewall rite above the blower fan motor I would check it first

Welcome to the site. Send me a message with your email address. I'll forwared you the best TBI troubleshooting guide I've found. It covers common codes and specific step by step things to check. Pulling the codes is the first step. The PDF file is several pages long.

Hey guys thanks for ur replys. Would it make a difference in anything if I have the dual tanks? But when I bought the truck someone took the passenger side tank out and the switch out of the dash.
