New supporter/ new truck

Hello and happy new year!
I've been lurking around this site, for free, far too long and finally paid up. Long overdue but better late than never right?. Great site and my most frequently visited (along side craigslist to find cheap parts).

So here are some pictures of my new rig. Bought it as a parts truck for my street strip project, but its so damn straight and runs so good, I am having second thoughts tearing it apart. Its a 1969 GMC 2500 with factory buckets and roof lights, factory 396/ th400 (now a 350/350..darn huh). It has some very minimal rust and runs pretty good but could use a carb and an hei upgrade. But the best part is the seats.. nearly perfect condition with the exception of a small tear on the drivers seat, but the foam is perfect on both and the passenger seat looks new. I pd 995.00 for this -

So.. do vendors sell individual seat covers since I only need the drivers side?

Re: New supporter/ new truck

Maybe you can paint it like your street strip and when you go to the strip it can be your tow vehicle.

Man, that's in too good a shape to tear apart. 'Sides...if you break down at the track you'll be glad you have a tow vehicle to get home. Wouldn't take much to make that a sweet ride.

Re: New supporter/ new truck

Heres the rear bumper, welded on. I think it would do good in a demolition derby. BTW the truck still has big block towers and radiator.

Re: New supporter/ new truck

Lots of trucks had that style bumper. It was used for hauling 11 to 13 ft campers. They are kinda ugly when the camperisn't on it but I'll bet the bed floor looks better because of the camper.
