I got access to a scanner now so I decided to dig out some old pics of my truck and get them on here. My truck's been in my family since the 70's. My cousins in Nevada picked it up back then. Here's a pic... circa 1975???

My older brother, Jimmy got the truck in about 1981. He went to a Vo-Tech high school and took autobody. He painted it in class his senior year and won an award for it. Here is a couple of pics taken in 1982, right before his graduation...

After he drove it for 16 years, doing concrete construction, beating the crap out of it, I got it in 2000. We made a deal with the '51 pickup that I had. I gave him a huge discount...if he gave me his '62. I still need to find some 'build' pics of it, but this is what it looked like when I first started driving it... this pic it around fall, 2001...

Here's a few shots of the backyard paintjob getting done. My brother shot it after we did all body work. Here's an action shot and an "all done" shot. We did the paintjob in mid-late summer...2002.

That is the El Torito. I used jam there with a couple of guys on Friday nights. I believe they were called "Latin Express"... Spanish music. It was a fun little gig. My bro took that pic right after we finished setting up.

That's not my truck. That truck was a '60 that belonged to my friend Danny... "ratrod60apache". He has since sold that truck.

the truck was looking sweet through the years. I bet your neighbors hated you for painting it in the back yard, getting over spray every where.

Actually no. My Dad was always painting cars for people. He did paintjobs for our neighbors on both sides and across the street. As a matter of fact, one of the neighbors across the street was an old beatnik pinstriper named Monte. He did alot of work for my Dad...most or all of it for no charge. I grew up in a neighborhood called "Pittman" in Henderson, Nevada. Pittman had a rep for it's funky smell..caused by nearby factories. Smelling paint and overspray was a definite improvement!

I was able to scan a few more pictures... these were early in the build. These were taken in my Dad's backyard. Bedless and doorless...

I had a '63 that I used for parts. I used the doors off of it. After I painted the insides, my brother-in-law Van gave me a hand installing them

Here's a couple of pics of the truck after I lowered it, put the bed on and new wheels installed... I believe I had put all the interior in and I was showing my Pops.
