Best tailgate letters?
The question has come up as to who sells the best tailgate letter set as far as fit and durability?

PO gave me all the receipts for the stuff he did. I have a receipt from Brothers, part number TGDF72C for the chrome finish CHEVROLET stickers. They look great IMO. Fit is perfect, no peeling or bubbles. I've even hit it with a pressure washer. I would recommend, they were $9.99 (4) years ago. Good luck. Jim

Re: Best tailgate letters?
I installed the ones from early classics four years ago...they were 7.95 and they looked great now they are covered by a tailgate band we installed some time ago...

Re: Best tailgate letters?
The lighting isn't the greatest. I'll attach a few more once I get the other vehicles out of the way.

Re: Best tailgate letters?
Are the letters just not that popular with board members?

Re: Best tailgate letters?
I bought a set from LMC but decided to use them to mask off my letters when I re-spray painted my tailgate. It didn't work out as I expected and next time I will probably just run the decals.

Re: Best tailgate letters?
I bought the brothers letters and I brought them to my local sign shop and had him make a reverse (Inside out decal) I used these as stencils to sray the letters on. Than I put the extra letter on the back of my golf cart

Man, it's crazy how often I jump on here and someone is asking/talking/telling about the exact things on my mind!
Great minds...... Excellent question.

Re: Best tailgate letters?
So, does anyone know the exact process GM used to paint the letters? Did they have some sort of overlay stencil followed by spraying the paint? Did they paint the letters on by hand with a brush?

Re: Best tailgate letters?
I imagine it was a stencil type arrangement. Look at hub caps, dash bezels, grilles, and other accent paint. It ain't exactly perfect, just good enough.

Re: Best tailgate letters?
That looks good in pics. I was wanting mine painted but I ain't that good. YET
I used some from SOUTHERN KENTUCKY TRUCK PARTS.I thought they would be hard putting on but they were real easy.I sprayed windex on the gate then sprayed some on letters so they would slide around where I wanted and squiggy the windex out and let dry.No bublles and looks like my buddy done it at the sign shop.Pics on other comp. |
