Exhaust, starter combination for NV3500 transmission swap

I have a 1971 chevy c10 pickup that i installed a LT1/4L60e motor/tranny into. I am removing the tranny and swapping it to a manual NV3500 transmission. I tried to install the starter for the new transmission but the solenoid hits the outlets on my exhaust manifolds. I cant remember what the manifolds originally came from but they are rear dumps not the center dump Ram Horn style. I am wondering if anyone that has installed a NV3500 transmission in their truck can tell me what they used for their exhaust manifolds/headers and the starter.
