Can't believe I can't find anyone that has used this seat in there trucks

I have looked high and low for someone who has this 1990 seat in there truck.I have been told that the material could be cut away from the foam and then recovered.I am going with a Bright Red interior. This seat sits so comfortable and has a arm rest.
My other cheaper option is to use the original bench seat and order a Bright Red cover and just use it even though it does not sit as well and of course does not have a armrest.
If anyone here can show me some pics of the 1990 seat they had reupholstered I would love it.

That's the seat I have in my truck.Original not recovered. Its a pretty popular replacement as I have seen it used in a lot of our trucks on here over the years.

That year seat is one of the most common replacements in all years of classic GM trucks lol Gotta be 1000's of people out there with it.

That looks like the seat I have in my truck, but my seat is covered in black vinyl. Aside from the 3rd degree burns I get when the truck has been parked in direct sunlight, I really like my seat, the folding arm rest is a nice option.

X2! I've pulled a lot of those out of 67-72's and tossed them in the scrap pile!

I got these pics off the Forum, so, yes there are many people who have used that seat, and some modified the brackets (to make it sit lower) here is the pictures:

Thumbs up Re: Can't believe I can't find anyone that has used this seat in there trucks

Mine had never been covered it was in good shape when I sold it after 15 years of it being used. They seat wonderfully. I used the out 2 bolt holes for both sides. I had to redrill the inner holes though.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Those are great seats but I hear they are a bigger to re cover since the fabric and foam are bonded

Re: Can't believe I can't find anyone that has used this seat in there trucks

I looked for one of these seats for years, to no avail. I gave up when I scored a pair of buckets out of a 70 Blazer, for $20, and a center console for $7. Had them recovered in my color an reworked the brackets. There's still a little part of me that wishes I would of held out for the 60/40 split like you show. Lately I've seen a few at pull a part, and I'm tempted to get one, but the wife would kill me for sure. I would have to try to justify it for a future Suburban project ( that I don't have yet).

Re: Can't believe I can't find anyone that has used this seat in there trucks

This is the seat in my 95 C1500 standard cab . I have been trying to find another one to put in my C20 but haven't found one yet .From what I've learned it is called a solid bench / bucket back seat . It has a wide fold down arm rest and adjustable power lumbar. I guess they were also used in crew cabs as a back seat. I think this seat would be a great upgrade to the factory bench seat . I have one of the red 40/60 split bench seats but the one I have doesn't have an arm rest.

Re: Can't believe I can't find anyone that has used this seat in there trucks

Wow! posted earlier about this very same thing and got a lot of "hard to recover" posts because fabric is glued to foam.aod92 I tried to send you a PM and it came back full.So heres my questions.
Are you going to cover it in vinyl or cloth? Are you going to use 2 colors? What colors? Are you going to use the original seat belts?Have you fitted it in your cab yet?
My interior is going to be Bright Red.I am probally going to use Bright Red and on the part your butt and back sits use Black like snipescastle2.I have been told cloth works better than vinyl.Conforms to the padded foam better.

Gonna do a vinyl with a plaid insert. My interior guy said he'll pull the cover off and shave the foam to get rid of the ridges. Then he'll build up what he needs too.
