16'' Six Lug 4 nub Steelies ?
Lately have been seeing reference to such on the board for those wanting to run a tall and skinny 16'' tire and stock hub caps. Specifically, what vehicles and what year range did these wheels come from? Am familiar with our truck 15s'' (5 and 6 lug) and 16.5'' wheels (8 lug) just not the 16s'' Will be going to a fairly decent swap meet within couple weeks and would like to be prepared to the possibility of finding some. Besides the newer Toyota trucks and Jeeps isn't GM the only other mfg. to use a six lug wheel? Those that know, please share some knowledge, LOL. Always like to learn about these trucks.

Re: 16'' Six Lug 4 nub Steelies ?
4-nub wheels started in '71, so 1/2t 4wd '71 up to possibly '91. I don't know if GM stopped offering the 16" wheel option or they were only seldom ordered. I'd have to look into options offered for given years to see.

Re: 16'' Six Lug 4 nub Steelies ?
Thanks K, guess I never knew that GM offered a 16'' wheel back in the day. As an option most likely not a lot of folks went that direction then. Seems 16.5'' was more prevalent at the time. Today, not so much. Will have to start eyeing the 6 lug wheels I see a little closer with a tape measure.

You can tell the 16" 6 and 5 lug wheels by the wider longer vents. Once you notice those the wheel looks just a big bigger, too...and the tire profile will be taller and skinnier.
