Craftec tonneau cover
Got the Craftec tonneau installed and we're quite pleased. It'll keep the flour and sugar dry on the way home from the grocery store, and it looks good too. We ordered 2 extra bows for 15" OC with our long bed and Maxx vinyl so it won't sag under a snow load.
Assembly was straightforward. Stretching the vinyl over the frame took real hand strength. Sam held the frame while I pulled it into place. Plan on doing that a day or two before actually installing the cover. Your forearms will appreciate the recovery time. Installation on the truck was easy, following the instructions. We can buy 4 or 5 of these for the price of one Gaylords hard cover. We aren't cheap, but appreciate a good value. Also note the new CR Laurence slider, really appreciated on these warm days. Thanks HuntzNSam |

Re: Craftec tonneau cover
I always like the idea of a cover but worry about needing to remove it to haul something... I still need my truck to haul lumber or a lawn mower now and then.
How is it to remove? |

Re: Craftec tonneau cover
Nice truck and cover! I have a similar cover but yours looks better sitting flush with bed.
Mine is all above bed. Bill

Re: Craftec tonneau cover
Mr Handy,
Removal is 2 minutes or less. Pop the struts off the bed studs, bring the cover to full vertical, and lift it out of the front rail. Reinstall is the reverse. It is light enough for one person to handle. Thanks Huntz |

Re: Craftec tonneau cover
Any pictures of it removed by chance? Just curious to see how the framework looks in the bed without the topper on. Also can this topper be locked?

Re: Craftec tonneau cover
Chewy,
Only the front rail and two bed studs remain when the cover is off. Rigging a lock wouldn't be rocket science, but it is like locking a convertible. A pocket knife defeats it and causes lots of damage, so I never locked my converts. I can buy flour and a spare for less than a new cover. If you are hauling gold bullion though.... Thanks Huntz |

Re: Craftec tonneau cover
I have the same cover I just installed. Did you have any trouble with the double sided tape on front of bed? On a recent hot day walked out and noticed cover had moved just a little. Ended up just putting a screw on each side to bed.

Re: Craftec tonneau cover
Very nice! Can you take a look at my spare tire mount on my short step and tell me if you think the cover frame will interfere? Thanks

Re: Craftec tonneau cover
Money Pit,
Thanks for the heads up. It's only been on a week, but I'll keep an eye on it. Z10 - yes, it will interfere. It overlaps the sides 1/2". See JPG. Too bad the truck is already pretty in paint. Thanks HuntzNSam |
