Stock radio. How much does it cover the dash knob holes?

I removed the non working cheesy aftermarket radio from my truck. I was a little ticked to see that they slightly ground the inside edges of both knob holes to get it to fit. They didn't do much. Maybe less than a quarter inch. It still has a piece in tactic each side between the main stereo opening.

I'm looking at buying a stock AM GM radio, but I'm wondering how far the knobs overlap the holes, in hopes that it might cover up the part they cut? If not, has anybody found a good gasket, washer, etc. that would look good?

The stock radio uses a bucket type washer on the face side of the dash that the shaft nuts tighten down on sucking the radio into the dash. Not too sure how much of a flange there is, want to say about .125" or so. Think the tone and dummy are pretty much the same size (OD) as well. Might try looking through the classifieds for radio pictures to see this.

I show them to be 1-3/16th total diameter for the wide part. The narrow part that fits in the hole is 1-1/16th. The knobs are 1-9/16th.

Correction on above... I meant the large chrome rings not the knobs.
