VIN decode 1/2 or 3/4 ton

1969 GMC 4X4 Vin K9E1491106030

Can anyone confirm if this truck is a 1/2 or 3/4 ton by the VIN?

Re: VIN decode 1/2 or 3/4 ton

Thanks, it is now a fleetside, but it is advertized as a 2500 1/2 ton and the picture does not show how many wheel studs there are.

PM board member Rod. He's got a lot of info on Canadian GMC Vins, he can probably give you some insight.

Re: VIN decode 1/2 or 3/4 ton

I found the following link....

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/Chevyear.html

Which indicates that it is a 1/2 ton! Bonus!

Re: VIN decode 1/2 or 3/4 ton

PM'd you the answer..its a simple one..just that 9 after the K meant built in Canada (they "GM" did that on some 67-69 vins) on GMC vins...rest decodes like the boards decoders.

4wd, 8 cyl, 1/2 ton box pickup, 1969, built in Oshawa
