Gear indicator replacement

Has anyone replaced the gear indicator on a 72 tilt column? I have a tilt column from a 72 in my 65 Suburban, and the pointer is gone and I'd like to replace it, but not sure if it's worth it if I have to dismantle the column. Any pics of the replacement if anyone has done this?
Thanks
Paul

Re: Gear indicator replacement

It's simple, only the housing needs to be removed. Replacement pointers are available

Re: Gear indicator replacement

Super easy. Tilt the wheel all the way down, take the indicator housing off, slide out the broken indicator, slide in the new one, reattach housing. Two minutes tops. At least, if memory serves me correctly...

You can find the new indicators at GMC Pauls, probably other places too.
