Red Baron

ok its not red yet, but it will be I travel with my job and found this girl about 1 1/2 hours from my house. I squabbled back and too with the owner for almost 2 months. I finally made a cash offer of 1500.00 and he called me about 4 days later and said yes . I Pulled it home on a trailer, adjusted the carb, and been riding it ever since.

Re: Red Baron

Got the bed off. Found a guy on craiglist looking for a late model bed and he traded me plus 50.00 for gas.

Here are some pictures of my temp gas tank while i was waiting for new one to arrive. The previos owner had relocated the tank and had this tank in the back bed. Also working on the frame.

Re: Red Baron

Yeah I was lucky. The guy said he was making a custom and did not care about being original. The bed is solid and straight, but the bed floor does have some bad spots.

I was thinking the same thing. That was an awesome score on that bed. Is it in as good of shape as it looks?

Re: Red Baron

Bed is solid as hell all the way around. Has a new tailgate, but he left it in rain and it got surface rust. Problem area as most is the bed floor. Not sure what I am going to do yet.

Re: Red Baron

Got the roof skin on today finally. While the old one was off I grinded all the old seam sealer out. I also treated the roof for rust with Ospho and primed it before we put the new skin on. We run out of time so we will do the seam sealer back in place once I have another day off. At least I have a roof again and the rusted one is gone
