Flywheel question

I have a newish 350 crate motor (fits up to 85 I think) that I want to put into a 1969 K20 with a 4 speed so I need a flywheel and clutch, also need a new starter. Motor is presently in a C10 automatic so I don't have clutch etc. I see in the Summit catalog that they have 153 and 168 tooth flywheels and different diameter clutches. Is there anything to choose between the two flywheels ? Does that affect the size of clutch that I use ?
Thanks Bernie

I prefer the larger 168 tooth flywheel as you can get a larger clutch mounted to it and the larger diameter goes with the high torque starter. You can buy a good used flywheel and the originals come with different size clutch mounting holes in them already. I am not sure if new ones do or not.

If you are using the stock truck bell housing, then you will need the larger diameter flywheel to mate with the starter.

FYI
I have a flywheel, clutch and starter left over from when I did my manual to auto swap a few months back. Would love to sell them. Let me know if you are interested and I can get some pics.

Thanks Jim. I think that I'll go for new stuff here. The clutch etc is easy to change now, but will be harder when everything is back together. thanks anyway

As long as we're on the subject...will the flywheel on my 350 work on a 396? I have the 465 / heavy duty clutch now.

Yes, a 350 flywheel will work on a 396. On the sb's,262, 265, 267,283, 305,307, 327, & 350 are internal balance. The BB's , 396,402, & 427 are internal balance & the flywheels are swapable(not sure thats a word ) the 454 BB, & the 400 sb are external balance, & have a weighted flywheel......they dont swap with ea other tho. crazyL
