69 with 350/th400
finally getting close to driving this truck since purchasing and the PO never used a kickdown switch for the th400, but the wiring is present. i was looking into the lokar kickdown setups....so here is my question.
just did the lfd pedal conversion, so i still need a cable and bracket...... anyone know which bracket would work with an original 71-72 throttle cable and a lokar kickdown cable?? the edelbrock 8036 LOOKS like it could work....whether i use an oe or aftermarket throttle cable. also, im running an old edelbrock performer manifold with a new edelbrock 650 carb. thanks for any tips/suggestions |

Re: 69 with 350/th400
If you are using a 71-72 pedal assembly you should be able to use the pedal mounted kickdown switch (its cheap and easy to find). The original system on a 69 was a carb mounted switch (hard to find) with a throttle lever mounted paddle to actuate it. The Lokar and the B&M are just cable actuated switches.
I'd just run the inside 71-72 switch and reroute the wires. Use a stock 71-72 cable and engine bracket (or similar replacement). As a reference here is an original 69 350/TH400 kick down switch installation courtesy of Firstowner69 and the parts set by Classic Bowties.

Re: 69 with 350/th400
Here is a link to the brackets Lokar offers to use with their kickdowns and throttle cables. http://lokar.com/product-pgs/mountin...kets-main.html It looks like it may dependent upon your carb. They do list a couple Edelbrock brackets. They are billet and probably pricey. Can you just use the 71/72 kickdown setup that mounts inside the cab with the LFD conversion as you suggest?

Re: 69 with 350/th400
You are going to need to do a search for a better 71-72 throttle pedal picture. There are, I am sure, several pictures archived on the parts board.
Unfortunately it is a 71-72 402/TH400 specific part IIRC. Good news is a lot of parted C20s were equipped that way.
