Steps for restoring a steering wheel?
I found a nice, crack-free steering wheel for my '72. It has several nicks, scrapes, and abrasions though. What's the best method for smoothing it out and polishing?

Go to the parts store and get the vinyl repair kit or use plastic filler, ruff out the areas that are bad, fill with plastic filler, paint, sand, paint, buff, seal

Re: Steps for restoring a steering wheel?
Thanks for the reply. The wheel is actually pretty nice, and I dont want to paint it. I was wondering if it the problem areas could be sanded with really fine sandpaper and then buffed? The wheel is black.
