Heck yeah...leaky windows and door seals etc. or parked down by the beach. I've seen some bad rust (some of it was in my driveway)

I paid $1300 for my shortbed, and $2500 for my GMC.

Shortbed made it home under it's own 292 steam. but I wouldn't call it running.

GMC runs good and is pretty solid 350/350TH but needs rockers.

No pic's of it yet, I dropped my digital camera on the tile floor and that's all she wrote.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

I bought my 1972 for $700.00 and drove it home. About a 2 hour drive. Factory air, 350 V8, auto., ps., pb., 101,800 original miles, old LWB farm truck. I'm really enjoying working on it.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

I paid $700 for my 70 GMC LWB, am trying to turn it into a 68 chev swb, and have $4000 into so far. It barely runs and needs another 15K or so. I enjoy fixing stuff on it but if I would have known about this board I would have learned enough from you guys to buy a southern truck and not fix junk.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

I paid $ 250 cdn. It was a truck that sat for 12 yrs and a few people had " borrowed" a few parts. There wasn't much there. but I did find a receipt for $300 for the new windsheild that was in it. had it 2 yrs, put about 20 miles on it and dumped I don't know how many hours and dollars into it so far. But , you gotta have a hobbi, and I don't knitt.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

Got mine free. Dad bought Grandpaw a 1983 Silverado for 500 bucks and traded him for it, but NOW the truck's mine and I didn't pay anything for it. I've put a lot of work and money into my truck and it ain't ever gonna be sold. Next on the list is about 400 dollars for some new rear tires........

3K in '86. Best investment I ever made. Offered 4k bringin' it home by a guy on the interstate. Somebody always wants to buy,so I price so high they walk away.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

I traded for a set of wheels......but I had $2400 in them- my wifes logic.
The wheels had been paid for long enough the truck was free- my logic.
Which way do I vote?

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

Paid $500.00 initially. Had a 400 small block, someone had put together with weather strip aheasive on every gasket in it. (yes, "EVERY" gasket) Had a rod knockin, so I towed it from one side of Houston to the other back to the house, and put a 283 in it and drove it till I wore out the 283. Put a 350 in it until I wore that out. Decided 11 years ago to fix it. Budget, kids, other projects, have put it on hold through the years, but still pluncking away at it. Might get it done before I die?
