Re: fiberglass fender ?

Yeah, is the flare for off-road benefits or are you going after an early-70's IMCA racer-look? I remember seeing trucks of our vintage in Hot Rod magazine that had wide wheels and flares.

Is that where you're heading with that question?

Re: fiberglass fender ?

hanneman fiberglass made mine. They are no where near a bolt on fender so be prepared to be creative on mounting them. One side was different than the other to so I wouldnt recomend them. I want the body lines to look the best that I can make them so Ive been pulling my hair out trying to get everything to line up. my trucks a 70 ant the fenders are 67 because I like the way they look better. They are 5" bulge and the wheel openning is larger as well. 35's clear with the spindle lift on my 2wd.

Re: fiberglass fender ?

yah i know. i even drew a rendering of how it would look, and it looked sick as hell prerunnered out with tube bumpers, lights on bumper, 33's, flared fenders, cowl hood etc. yah i also voted in that poll for that thread when i was so undecided with what i was going to do. but thanks for the link anyways. i had forgot all about this thread i started until smashedfoot brought it back up
edit: ill try and post my rendering soon

Re: fiberglass fender ?

I'm looking at new posts (clickable area at the top of the page) and there's somebody gauging interest in having him make some similar to what you describe...

Try trolling new posts, or search for prerunner.

Re: fiberglass fender ?

Ya one of these days Im going to finish mine! I used a spindle lift for an 88-98 chevy. its an advertised 4" lift but on our trucks it gives it 5" because our spindles are 1" lower that an 88. with these fenders I hane 35" tires on and they clear. the motor and tranny are out but theres o ton of clearance. Im even thinking of running 37". Ive also got 3/4 ton springs front and rear so that probably lifts it a little. Ive never seen one driving up in the fresno area so if I ever finish it it will be unique and will turn a couple heads.

Re: fiberglass fender ?

I found it when I was lookin for Fiberglass fennders for my 69 2wd Longbed. They are Hannemann. I bought some and put them on my truck. Had to drill out the welds holding on the old fenders and use small bots and nuts to mount the new fenders. It was a pain but well worth it. Here's some pics of my 69 with the 3-1/2" bulge fenders on it the day it came out of the paint booth>
