No tail / brake lights but have side marker lights?
OK. so my 72C10 came back from the painter and I've got no tail or brake lights. The side marker lights work though.
Fuse has to be good for any lights back there to work. Brake switch probably good? when it goes out all lights go out right? I have LED rears and it's been so long that I've forgotten if there was something else I had to do to get those to work. Side markers wouldn't work with bad ground right?

Seeing as it came from the paint shop, I would check the rear tailight buckets to have a good ground. Buckets may have been taken out to paint. Bulbs ground through the housing.

Don't have bulbs. flat LED panels. They're screwed into the housing though

Re: No tail / brake lights but have side marker lights?
Brake lights are on a separate fuse from the tail/running lights. Running lights might be on the same fuse as your dash lights.
2nd the thought that fresh paint might = bad or painted over grounds. If the side markers are the type that flash out of phase with the rear turn lights, they ground via the brake light bulb. Swapping to LED often causes issues with this. |
