Thumbs up Not the cherriest, but it has personality for days!

Yesterday was the 4th of July and 108 degrees outside so needless to say I stayed indoors, about 3:00 PM I decided to scroll over to ebay motors and browse, I hadn't done it in quite a while (2-3 weeks), so the first thing I find is a 66' short fleet about 10 miles from my house, with 23 minutes left on the auction clock I call the owner and asked him a few questions, both of us knowing I could never make it out to his place in time, I liked mostly what I heard but I explained to him that I don't like to buy anything without seeing it in person, he understood and I wished him well on his sale, with seven minutes left on the auction I called my very understanding wife over and said....."How much do you love me?" Just kidding But I do say to her "look at this cool looking truck" it's not the "cherriest" and it's been made to look like a old Merced city concrete truck (we live in Merced county) I really think that's it so cool and it would make a nice driver, so my wife says....what are you waiting for? Bid, before it's too late, need I say more .........fast forward to today, I went and picked up "Rocky" and drove it home. Here's a few pic's.

Nothing really Keith, I have some not too dull used chrome front and rear bumpers that just came off the "Pumpkin" that I could use and would look correct, but other than just trying to shine/polish the paint (not clearing it) I'm planing on leaving it the way it is (grill included) believe it or not , I was attracted to it the way it looks, soooo as of right now no changes but tomorrow is another day.

Thanks Grizz, it is my wife's birthday next week, maybe I'll take her for a ride in the truck or go get her a card or something.

Re: Not the cherriest, but it has personality for days!

it's your truck, but I wouldn't change the bumpers to chrome.
Those bumpers are what go with that company work truck.
That rear bumper would be exactly what the guy who used that truck would have had for what he used the truck for.

Either way, that truck is pure cool.

Don't change that grille, and definitely don't change the bumpers!

Looks great, nice buy.

Re: Not the cherriest, but it has personality for days!

Well guys, I took a good look, took a step back, a deep breath and decided that I'm not changing a freakin thing!!!! It's staying just the way I bought it, painted bumpers, faded correct grill and all.

Thanks everybody for all the input!

Did I mention this thing runs and rides fantastic!!!!!!

Yes,
Just think of how cool it is to have dressed as it was in its original glory.
It's so nostalgic.
It's a timestamp.
