value of 67?
I have to ask because I always think these trucks are worth to much. 1967 c10 shortbed truck with a 327 motor and 350 transmission. the seller installed new transmission steel lines and a new battery. It has 6lug drum brakes on all 4 corners,15x10 wheels and tires. The truck runs but needs restoration. It comes with new outer rockers and cab corner for the 67 along with new inner door handles and door rubbers and a couple new emblems and tail light lens. clear title. It's primer, pretty straight, good interior. The seller told me to make an offer but I of course don't want to offer to much.
Thanks a lot for the help. Last edited by the_goat; 07-15-2007 at 06:41 PM. |

Re: value of 67?
there is no way of saying from that description. That could be a $500 truck, or a $2500 truck. The tranny isn't original, so it may be a mutt of a truck (that doesn't nessisarily mean it is, but raises flags if anyone throws out all original in the description as is done so often)
You didn't even mention if it was a fleet or a step side bed on there, int condition, options or option package... ect. If you could get some pics, we might be able to help. |

Re: value of 67?
You say it runs... if it runs and drives, and is good as a daily driver, that would fetch 1500 - 1800 instantly around here. But they would ask 3500 |

Re: value of 67?
I haven't seen it in person but I don't think it's a daily driver. I am really not expecting to much from the drivetrain.

Re: value of 67?
$1,000-1,500,because it`s a cool`67 fleetside. It`s easy to buy patch panels.Don`t give him any credit for those.I see that all the time.Big deal,IMO.I wouldn`t put any value in the wheels and tires, either. They give it no more value than old stockers(I`d rather have stock than cheap stuff).Primered...ask why.

Re: value of 67?
I offered him 800 being that I haven't actually seen it and it's 700 miles away. He said, very politely, that wouldn't be enough. I am waiting to hear what he is looking to get out of it. It came stock with an I-6 and a 3 speed on the column. We will see what he says.

Re: value of 67?
I spoke to the seller again, a very nice gentleman, who said that it would only take three things to make it a daily driver, a windshield, windshield wiper motor, and one of the rear drums is leaking. It actually sounds like a nice truck. He has 2300 in it, should I make another offer? oh yea, it has power steering

Re: value of 67?
Tim, the hose is probably fine, more likely than not, its got a chrome T-stat housing on the alluminum intake, which didn't get the coolan flushed often enough and the metal eroded away from electrolisis.

Re: value of 67?
The question I always ask myself is what would I want for this truck if it were mine. Now compare that with what you are offering and ask yourself " is this a fare offer" that I'm proposing. Quite honest if someone offered me $700.00 for this truck I would say goodbye and even if the guy came back with $2300.00 I would refuse to sell it to this individual.
As far as I'm conserned asking you to make an offer is BS. He should have stated his price right from the begining. I hate it when guys do this and I for one refuse to play this game. How bad do you want a 67! IMHO a $1000.00 to $1500.00 would be a great score. He has rust, so what .... better here then needing a whole new floor and who knows what else. All these trucks have rust, dents what ever. What are your plans if you do get it .... an all out show queen or are you going to drive it and fix it up a bit as you go? Do you have a project budget? I'm not trying to be an a$$ here but really your going to loose this truck and that would be a shame if you really want it. Ask the owner for proof of $2300.00 being spent on the truck and if he can back it up start dealing around $2000.00 to $2500.00. After all he has saved you money that you would have to spend down the road. esll.
