Repro parts prices are going UP!!!

If it's made of metal or plastic (petro), the prices are going up.

I just got new prices on aluminum grill shells...up another $20 ($30 last year)!
Vent window assemblies up $45!

All metal prices went up about 10% last year.

But, what can we expect? Look at GM prices and normal auto parts store prices. OUCH!

Don't cry about prices until you have to pay $220.00 for a fuel pump/sending unit assy for a 2000 GMC Sierra

I bought a fuel pump for the 327 in the 67 Panel truck --- cost my $14.00

Doesn't surprise me Frank, everything is going up, I just had my wifes 95 BMW passenger side window worked on $440. I'd would of rather spent that $$$ on my blazer.

I can top that, how about a $740 monthly payment on an 05 Yukon XL. Prices are relative, and the price for parts is a damn sight cheaper than a payment for a new one. I use Rick's truck parts here in Phoenix and his prices are the least expensive, but if he has to pay more then its the trickle down effect. I plan to soak a lot of $$$ in my old ones and replace the $740 a month yukon with one of them!!

Good Lord! I'm paying $230/month on my Z71 (but I'm really paying $5-600 a month to pay that sucker off in under 2 years ) I noticed small increases last year. I noticed vendors had fenders for about $115 and when I was looking to buy they went up to about $135. I also noticed doors went from $260 to $300, but I bought from a board vendor and picked them up in person at goodmark and saved $$$$$$$$$. Only cost me $30 in gas and I was on my way to Athens, Ga anyway.

Thanks Frank,It`s been expected here. So,no surprise. My vinyl products shot up in price on an emergency basis after the storms.Jobs already bid?Oh well.Things were tight on me this winter. They blamed it on natural gas loss which is used largely in the production of vinyl products.

That's a damn good question. Since just last year I have about $200 less per month to spend due to gas price increase (my dd is a Z71 that gets 15mpg) which caused everything else to go up I would need a 10% raise to offset the increases I seriously doubt I'm going to get it.

Re: Repro parts prices are going UP!!!

we sell auto and truck parts and if you think its bad when the prices go up, how about when they don't notify you that they went up. You tell a customer one price and then you have to eat the cost when you find out the price went up. Or worse yet when your vendor gets bought out by a larger company and they drop the products you sell and don't even notify you. We expect the prices to go up during the first quarter but don't know when always. ALot of them give us warning but not all. It makes us look like fools at times. Thats what makes business interesting I guess.

Re: Repro parts prices are going UP!!!

I got a $1.01 per hour raise for cost of living. Put this in perspective, our old stuff is way cheaper to buy for than the new stuff. Buy what is within your budget and trade for the rest. I try to buy whole cars for some parts that I need in hopes of turing the rest for $$$ or more parts. Repop stuff is very reasonable.
