Long way to go.. pics of my blazer
...Frame is finished. Completely taken apart, sandblasted and liquid coated..,new 3:73 gears, tie rods ,ball joints etc..pics of that later
Here are the pics of where I'm at now on my resto...This is a rust free tub from Arizona. It was usable till it worked itself free on the trailer ride home and got scratched along the lower quarters.I believe the rollbar to be an original. I have a beautiful set of blazer doors but I believe in back-ups (on ceiling )in case of accident. I built the rolling rack the tub sets on and used 900lb load each, rotating casters on the corners so that I could roll it into the middle of the garage to work on it easier...can't leave it there cause the Boss needs her spot when its cold The body man I'm using has a rotisserie so the underneath ie:rockerboxes...will be as nice as the outside. More later.. Happy Holidays Charlie

original color ?
No the original color was either ochre or goldenrod...found yellow in a few spaces. I was one of those guys that thought"Oh yeah! A few months on the frame....couple more on the body...done. That was 3 years ago. Time mainly spent collecting nos pieces since I decided it ought to be nice enough to show...we'll see.

Nice pics Charlie Funny, last time I say your blazer you were driving it!!! Been awhile since I have seen the tub, very nice. Where are the frame pics?? I haven't been up to see it yet. Glad to see your getting a good start on the thing. For you guys that don't know Charlie, he has collected LOTS of mint and NOS parts for this blazer, mabey we should call it the "Million dollar blazer" LOL!! Seriously though, Charlie is a great guy and this should be a VERY nice blazer when it is done. That NOS am/fm should look good in there. Good luck with the rest of your project.

Modifying truck doors to blazer doors
I've never done it , but as I understand, you have to cut the upperwindow channel off just as they did at the factory...I believe there is a picture in the 67-72 factory assembly manual as to measurements...Then,most importantly ,you must spot weld additional bracing around the door latches needed because of frame flex inherent in the blazers and jimmys

Sorry about the bad day
I love those 67-68 front ends on our blazers...makes for a very interesting and good looking truck. Thants my next (read 5 years) project I want a blazer with a early front end...big block..and use the half cab I've been saving. Super Short bed!

Feel your fun as I have been playing with a partially restored 71 Jimmy for almost a year. Not a frame off and not rust free---being set up as a driver---pretty solid all things considered. Floors, rear quarters, and firewall weld restored. Finding that a 4x4 blazer restore is a LOT MORE work then a truck---OH YEA!!This one is a rebuilt 307, auto, 4x4, lockouts, decent double hardtop, 8" rallies, step bumper, new fenders, new houndstooth buckets, new edlebrock 1406 carb, holley intake, HEI, headers, console, new GMC tailgate, etc. Hope to have it finished enought to put it up for sale in another week or two. Needs exhaust, carpeting, paint. Weakest link---haven't done anything to the crappy doors but thats really pretty easy considering---Huck
