We sell original GM hinges too but if customer wants the cheaper repops we will give the customer what they want. We tell them we don't recommend them. They are crappy.

Re: Aftermarket Hood Hinges And Springs?
I purchased my GM hinges from the local Chevy dealer about 8 months ago and paid less than $50.00 each for them. I already had the new GM springs. Go with the original GM stuff. You won't be sorry.

Re: Aftermarket Hood Hinges And Springs?
Hey Mike, Did not mean anything bad. Just saying I don't like to sell parts that I get A lot of complaints about. I am thinking about stop selling 67-72 doors. I wish they would make them without the window frames welded in. They are begining to be a real PITA.

Re: Aftermarket Hood Hinges And Springs?
Hey Richard, I have body shops install them dailiy with very little problem. The main problem is the do it yourselfers. Now don't take this the wrong way because I am one of them myself. But they just don't know the tricks of the trade to get some aftermarket items to fit and they are building the truck themself so what do you do?? Or I have this happen all the time even after I tell them not to! We already painted it and it don't fit right. I was really having a bad day yesterday in the complaint department.

Re: Aftermarket Hood Hinges And Springs?
I understand the window problem Tim. I bought 2 doors straight from Goodmark. I installed them myself and it was a real PITA, but with patience and a days worth of work they fit nicely now. I did have to "bend" the window frames out away from the truck about 1/2" on each side. Other than that, the fit was good. I just painted my truck a few days ago.
sorry for the thread jack Richard, check out the link in my signature, it's the build thread to my truck and it shows lots of pics of the goodmark doors/fenders that I used.

Re: Aftermarket Hood Hinges And Springs?
I have beat old doors up to fit. It seems every cab has a personality of its own. I have even reinstalled the doors that came off the cab and they seem to never to go back on the same and always need some fenacing. I swear doors are the hardest thing to install and get lined up on our trucks. They never want to cooperate.
