'68 c10 50th Anniversary Custom Camper

Made a mad dash up to Southern Oregon yesterday and picked this little rig up.
Has a 307 that runs pretty decent with a NP235 4 speed. Drives good, solid and tight. Other than someone adding a power steering pump and box it look original and unmolested.

Story is the previous owner had bought this truck a few months back from the family of an older gentleman that had passed away. Truck had always been stored under a car port and was one of a few that the family sold. Still has the original radio and floor mat, along with the owners manual. Ivory & White paint with parch cloth trim on the SPID, pose traction rear.
Someone painted the exterior a copper color and black where it should be white (Ivory). Seat dosent look like it is og to exact specs but pretty clean and none the less.

For what I paid I am EXTREMELY happy!
Now what to do with it. Might just get the black gone with white and slap it on my '70 4wd chassis!!

Nice buy, show us your SPID! Not a lot of 1/2 custom campers floating around out there (but it was definitely an option for a 68 C10).

Looks like a pretty solid truck , I'd put it right back to stock condition and sit back while the value soars over the next few years .

I like, and you didn't even need to change the fender badge. Still applies.

Re: '68 c10 50th Anniversary Custom Camper

The 37's are coming off and going to put some 35's on her. Just a little too tall for my liking.
Not sure if I'll have to replace the springs, I think 4 inch springs with 35's would be juuuuuust right!

Re: '68 c10 50th Anniversary Custom Camper

Finally getting the '68 ready for paint. Its been a loooong wait!!!

Not digging' the '49ers colors.......copper and black no more.
Going to go with the stock 50th Anniversary colors, gold and white.

Changed the 37" Pro Comps for some 35" BFG's and probably going to change the leaf springs to drop the height just a few inches. It sits a little higher than I want.

Replacing front windshield, has the sun discoloration, along with new back glass and all new side, rear cab and tailgate trim from Mar-K.
Not sure if I'm going to need to replace all the tail lights, headlights, etc.
Wanting to replace the eyebrow trim and grille trim pieces.......Evidently Mar-K doesn't make these moldings. Anyone have any advice on where to source these parts?

I'm not liking the black rims, it's too much black and dosen't go with the gold/white.
Any suggestions?

There's a thread here, somewhere about painting rally wheels colors other than the original argent (silver). Someone posted a picture of a stock rally wheel with the original center caps and trim rings. The wheel was painted gold. Really looked sharp!!!

I will try to find that thread and bring it to the top, for you....
