Power brake conversion
Hi
i have all of the stuff to the brake conversion, but I was wondering if I can use my old hard lines to the M/C, are they long enough or do I have enough slack to stretch that far ? Also, I understand that there is a difference in the pedal push rod length, I was smart enough to ask for the donor rod. Thanks Mark

Re: Power brake conversion
You should be able to unbolt the m/c from the firewall and move it forward without unhooking the brake lines.

Re: Power brake conversion
Racer,
Welcome, this is a great place for info. Lets see I got all of my stuff here off the board from members. I got M/C mounting brace off of donor both push rods( pedal to firewall--firewall to M/C ) but I think they make aftermarket adjustable also. Probably need a new check valve ( cheap at auto store ) then you will need to plumb from the check valve to somewhere for vaccuum, alot of people tee into where auto transmission goes into intake. Thats about it, if Im missing anything somebody will chime in. Mark

Re: Power brake conversion
Thanks I thought that was all I needed.
Can I get away with using a 7" dia. booster? I am getting ready to put in a 396 & a 4L60 trans & would like to have the smaller booster to run tall valve covers. Any idea on what model of vehical to pull a 7" booster from? Quote:

Re: Power brake conversion
Yea, you need to us a unit from a power system. Along with the proportioning valve from the same system.
