Timing settings for L6

Does anyone in their infinite bank of knowledge happen to know the timing settings for an HEI powered L6 250? I have sucessfully converted my L6 to HEI and am trying to time it. Thanks in advance for the info.

I would like to know too. I have mine set at 0 right now.

By the way maybe this should be moved out of the parts board to get a better response?

One approach to timing, when mixing and matching stuff, is to start at 0 deg and find a hill (you want to be able to load the engine) where you can start at about 45 mph and accelerate at wide open throttle. If you engine doesn't ping, set the timing up a couple of degrees and try again. Once you get the engine to ping, back off two degrees. Record the setting for future tune-ups. I had a Mallory dual point in an inline 6 that I set this way with good success. This also works best if you know that your carburetor is pretty well dialed-in, also.
