Pitman arm question
Just bought a 72 C10 that im looking to restore. Doesn't have the engine and doesn't have power steering. Id like to add power steering and have read where that requires a different pitman arm, which pitman arm does it require? Also, would the pit arm (for power steering) still work if I didn't add power steering? Thanks.

Re: Pitman arm question
I used a 1978 Gearbox and pitman arm. Works great!

Re: Pitman arm question
A power steering pitman arm will not fit a manual steering gear.

Re: Pitman arm question
The center link on a power or manual steering pickup is the same, meaning the tapered hole in the center link is the same size for both.
The opposite splined end the fits on the gear boxes is different, the powersteering gear shaft is larger, so the pitman arms cannot be interchanged.............. |
