trailer hitch needed for burb
I am looking for a good class 3 hitch to bolt under my 72 burb that does not hang down below the license plate. I am not really interested in the one that goes behind the license plate and am just wondering where to get one. A company name or link and maybe a part number would be really helpful. Any one have a used one in or near Seattle? Will pick up. We just bought a travel trailer and while towing it home the tranny blew out of my 1/2 ton 4x4! now we have nothing to pull it with except the 3/4 ton burb with no hitch.

That doesn't really leave much. Anyway, what does work is any class 3 hitch made for the 73 and up trucks. What you need to do is get a couple pieces of 1/2" plate and drill the holes to match the ones between the two side pieces of the hitch that bolt to the frame. Just use these plates as spacers to get the correct width. I've used this set up on my C-10 to pull a 20 foot boat that weighed over 3000 lbs dry. Make sure you use the reinfocement pads (square rectangles) on the back side of the frame. Hope this helps. BTW, Walmart sells them pretty cheap and the quality is good. HG-

I think I may have found one new for a 67-72 GMC Carryall?!?!? Anyway we will see if it fits. By not hanging below the license plate I meant WAY below like 2 or more inches. My kids 71 has a hitch that is like 1/8 of an inch and it looks good. Thanks for responding.
