I'm putting a new exhaust system on one of my trucks (69 LWB). I'm using 2 1/2 aluminumized pipe. I'd like some ideas on where to exit the exhaust. I'm thinking about behind the rear wheel near the back corner of the truck. I have a welded in rear roll pan. Pictures would be nice. Thanks

Straight out the back duel 2 1/2 pipes with angled chrome tips. if you imagine the picture above the pipes coming straight back without bending down and outward it would look like my truck.

I went with an exit just ahead of the rear wheel on the driver's side (inline 6 but you could easily put both out one side or one out each side). It made for a simple pipe given that I didn't have to concern myself with going over the back axle.

I am running Dual exhaust 2 1/2" alum coated pipes with Magnaflow mufflers, and Chrome tips, with out a (H) pipe, It dumps infront of the tires. Sounds Great not to Loud in the cab, but does get heads turned!!!!

I run 2 1/2" in, & 2 1/4" out of the muffs. Hooker headers, 40s flows(blowmasters),H pipe, & the tail pipes exit through the rear bumper. Not too bad in the truck, 6th gear keeps the revs down on the highway.......otherwise, those 2 chamber flows are right on the resonance point on the hyway with 4.10 gears @ cruise speed. Its loud as he!! when I stand on the throttle tho. Good luck,crazyL

I had a thought on something I'd like to do if I ever get to that stage.
Would it be possible, or even look good, to do have duals exiting in the rear, coming out below the rear corners of the bumper at a very steep angle? Have them not quite pointing straight down. not turndowns, but but more of a 45 degree angle out and 45 degrees down with 3 1/2 tips. Tuck 'em up in there so that you only see a couple inches of the tips.
Really hard to explain and not even sure if it's possible.

I have seen them exit out the back corners and turn down at an angle where they are hardly noticed, like on an older chevelle. The tips were cut at an angle and the pipes had a 45 deg bend. Looks really cool. Probably expensive unless you know someone that owns an exhaust shop or you do it yourself.

Red68, thats how I have mine cut. It's alot of work to get the bends right but I like the look alot. I had a friend that owns a exhaust shop do it... cost 100.00 for tailpipes using 2.5" aluminized pipe.

Depends on the weather for how my exhaust exits lol. Spring/summer/fall I run dumped 40's under the bed before the axle. During the winter I run the tailpipes I mentioned before.

i am running what everybody around here calls "REDNECK PIPES", they are 3inch stainless steel pipe, 12 inch glass packs and 4 inch angle cut tips in front of the tires. really loud not good if you carry many passengers seeing as you have to scream or use sign language but it does turn heads

I'm using 2 inch aluminized tubing into and out of Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. If I had to do it over again I'd use 2 1/2 inch tubing and turn the mufflers up-and-down so that they tuck better. I like the setup, but don't like always being able to see it. I definitely don't like scraping in driveways.

2.5 inch into some burnt out glasspacks and 4.5 inch tractor trailer pipes exiting out the sides in front of the rear tires... sets car alarms off

Hey Kid, where did you get your fuel tank?

My truck will have dumps in front of the rear axle. If i was lowerd I would want dual side pipes on both sides infront of the rear tires.

Here is mine... Hooker Headers, 2 1/4 tubing, with Flo Pros... I like how mine exit out the side, it sorta makes it look like a newer truck in some sense...

mine are just the old ramhorn exhaust manifold straight pipes with 24" glass packs and exiting straight out the back..sounds really good..not as loud as alot of trucks in my neck of the woods....anyone using those huge megaphone exhaust tips?? everybody that has a truck has those here, some are about 2 feet long and about 6" - 8" tips.
