Old hatch post???
I have been searching for an old post about hatch repair. If i remember correctly there was someone that was splitting a blazer hatch into two parts to repair cracks from the inside instead of from the outside. Maybe somebody remembers it or can help me in this area. I am going to attempt to repair my hatch and I dont want to pile up glass matting and resin on the outside. Thanks in advance for your help guys!

Re: Old hatch post???
Yep, its on the Blazer now, see my post below about getting the latch rods in. They are kicking my A$$!! Those little holes are tough to get fat fingers in to attach them to the handle. Still trying to get that done.
I'd post up some pics of it now, but its not really done. The inside of the hatch is painted, but the outside is still nasty and fiberglass. I just needed it on with rainy season starting here.

Re: Old hatch post???
Those are the pics I was looking for! I have never ever worked with fiberglass but it seems the repairs are straight forward. I plan on layering glass matting over the cracked areas and apply resin. Is there anything I need to know or be aware of before diving in? Thanks again for your help... this is the only place to get great info from great people!

Re: Old hatch post???
Thats pretty much it. I just went and got a couple of bags of spring clamps from Wally world. I think 3 bags would have been better though. Turns out its a long way around the outside and inside of that hatch when you put it back together. Mix your fiberglass so it sets up a little slow too as it takes a while to get it all coated and set together like you want it.
