Chevy's motto?

You know how Chevy's motto was "Like a rock" in the 90's, then it changed to "Start a revolution" in the 2000's? What was it when our trucks were produced?

And why aren't they making the El Camino anymore? I'd buy one. It would make an awesome truck....or car?

Re: Chevy's motto?

Why is it that Chevy makes cars like that for overseas and not for the domestic consumer? The styling is more aggressive. When I went to Germany I saw GM cars that I wish where here in the states. Just thinking out loud.

I'm not sure of the year of this one, but my favorite one was "The heartbeat of America".

I think they all do that. While in Mexico(2007), I spotted a new Ram Charger based on the 1/2 ton Ram truck. Can't get that here. It looked good too.

they were going to bring the holden ute here as the pontiac g8 gt, then pontiac died. They wouldn't have sold many I think. I would have been first in line if I had a career at the time
Chevy's motto could have been "you must be blind if you buy a dodge or ford" back then

The picture I posted was actually the G8 GT, I couldn't find a picture of the Ute SSV on google images, just the actual site.

Re: Chevy's motto?

Weeble, that was 1975 into 1977 as a motto.

TXFireFighter, USA-1 was not really a motto but more or less just license plates. The early plates say the motto. Year specific plates if you will. It carried for around 1966 or 67 up into 1987.

Re: Chevy's motto?

I like the motto for 1972. It's catchy. I hate the El Camino though. Or Pontiac "sport truck". They should make one and badge it as the El Camino. Just re-design it like the Camaro, Charger, and Challenger. Maybe that's what the Avalanche was supposed to be. I think the best looking "nostalgic" car is the Challenger. It looks closest to the original. The front of the Camaro's look awesome, but it just looks like they didn't know what to do with the taillights. I've always wondered if they were to take re-pop sheet metal (our trucks for instance), put modern frames under them with modern power train components, and sell them at the GM dealerships if there would be a market for them? Screw buying an old rust-bucket. Just buy a new replacement rust-bucket that won't rust.

If you look at 99-02 (especially the h.d.'s) gm trucks the lines are heavily 67-72 influenced

Re: Chevy's motto?

How about the ssr? It is kinda el camino-ish in idea, even though it doesn't look anything like it. It is still a car-like vehicle with a bed, and you can get it with a v-8.
