Another 69 Blazer on Ebay

Another 69 Blazer on ebay - not mine. I am confused on the VIN though. Shouldn't the "4" be an "8" for a Blazer body type or were they different the first year and have the 4 same as a pickup? 68 clip on it and later model motor.

A very nice truck. Not an unrestored original as claimed but still a nice truck.

Far from un-restored. No front hubs and a huge cross member drop. This is why ebay scares me

Re: Another 69 Blazer on Ebay

Front wheel lock hubs are an option but the speedo cable is coming in the passenger side of the transfer case so I am not sure that that would have been the original case- 205's come in the driver's side. Not familiar with the purpose of the blocks between the transfer case crossmember and the frame unless they were necessary for clearance for a non stock case? The seller indicates that he is selling for friends and both he and the owners don't seem to know a lot about it. Obviously restored at some point with the clip changed etc.. Has later model AC and alternator set up so probably a different engine. My main concern would be the VIN as it appears to me to be a pickup VIN. Certainly a solid nice looking Blazer by photos and would be worth a look if someone were close enough to do so.

Re: Another 69 Blazer on Ebay

Sheesh, the term "unrestored" is constantly taken out of context on just about everything forsale nowadays.

Don't people understand that the moment something is painted, or changed, the vehicle is no longer an "unrestored original" anymore??

I know this Blazer is sold, but my 1969 has a 4 not an 8 in the VIN# for future reference.

I am wondering if that is a first year only thing - same as a pickup?

Re: Another 69 Blazer on Ebay

It appears the winning bidder did not complete the sale for some reason. It sold a second time for over $2,000 less. There are certainly a lot of things to wonder about this Blazer, but I have to believe it is a bargain at $7k.

Re: Another 69 Blazer on Ebay

sold for $9K. Seems steep to me, but that's probably because I don't own a Blazer (yet).

Re: Another 69 Blazer on Ebay

It's always steep for the buyer and cheap for the seller

Honestly that was a pretty decent price. If it's a solid rust free example with original sheet metal I'd gladly pay alot more than that.
