'67 250 1bbl high idle once it's hot
So like the title says, my '67 with a 250 and 1bbl has a high idle once it's fully warmed up. Starts up from cold very easily and idles nicely though. What are some things to check first?

Does the choke open up all the way when it is at operating temperature? Are you testing it parked or are you actually driving it? LockDoc

Manual choke? If so, adjust the idle when it's warmed up and then when you pull the choke, it will give you a higher idle cold.

After my last post I read your post more carefully and now understand what you mean. Makes perfect sense to me now. Sounds like my idle is set too high and that's why I need no choke to start it. Now to figure out which screw does what on that carb and get that choke cable working properly.

Hey guys thanks. So more details....it's a manual choke, but even when it's 20 degrees out you don't need it to start the motor. I checked at the carb to make sure the choke is actually off and it is (knob on dash just comes off in your hand as well :-/). The high idle is after it's warmed up after a good couple minutes of driving, not just sitting and idling to warm up.
