Rip It To Pieces?

im starting to repair my longbed stepside bed on my 67
after i remove it from the frame
should i take it all apart working on each piece individually
or do i start sanding and grinding on it as a whole
there is no wood on it just steel supports
any input would be great
it seems to be pretty solid with only minor cancer on the rear areas

I would unbolt everything but leave the rear cross support connected to the bed sides as it is welded. It makes a little awkward but you can brace the front with an angle. That way you can get at most everything and clean it up good.
