Re: WTB: OEM Woodgrain "CHEVROLET" Tailgate Trim
Is that OEM/NOS Woodgrain Tape? I have a good band but the woodgrain tape is faded and peeling off. I think you have to pop the letters off, put the tape on and then reattach the letters? A little much at this point with the amount of time that I have on my hands, very little. Really looking for a good band for my driver...

I am pretty sure they are riveted on... and when you take them off you drill out the rivet or break it and have to jb weld, epoxy them back on. Trevor

Re: WTB: OEM Woodgrain "CHEVROLET" Tailgate Trim
My band was tip top except for the woodgrain had faded. I bought the tape and reworked mine myself. The letters were held on with a push type clip(looks like the round clips that hold your cables to the heater controls). I had to pry the clips off with a couple of small screwdrivers. The old tape was removed with a heat gun. I couldn't get all of the glue off the trim but I did the best I could with assorted cleaners and implements of destruction. I made holes in the tape with a needle and then pushed the letters back through. I was able to flatten the clips back out with pliers and then pushed them back on with a small socket.

Rat,
Lets give it a couple more days, if you don't mind, I know there is a decent TG band out there. I'll let this post "mature"... Alright! my wife is telling me what to write. |

Dang, I knew that I should have jumped on those when I saw them on your other post. Just My Luck, anyways what vendor sells them aftermarket, maybe for the side moldings also?

Wow! Good score. I'll keep looking... For the ever elusive, endangered tailgate band. I'm on the trail of a NOS one! Thanks, Dave

Re: WTB: OEM Woodgrain "CHEVROLET" Tailgate Trim
I found a NOS one and bought it but, I don't want to put it on my daily driver. So, I'll hope some one has a good used one. Thanks Dave
