anyone swap to a 4L80E yet
Was thinking of getting the tci transmission control unit to run my 4L80E in my 85 short bed.
Has anyone used this before? Its suppose to be a good cross over unit. Any recommendations for it or any other brand.

Re: anyone swap to a 4L80E yet
Nope... I'm waiting to hear from the first person that swaps in a new 6 speed auto... I'm guessing it will be a while since they are just gaining in popularity. The 2010 6 speed I drove had absolutely perfect gear ratios, but it was always hunting for gears. ANY movement of the accelerator resulted in a downshift. I know... "keep it in the torque curve"... well, it's a V-8! The torque curve covers like 4000 RPM!! anyway, the conversion in an old truck I'm sure would not be easy, but the result would probably ROCK!!
