YaHoo...It's Alive!!
At last. It's running. New fuel pump, replaced a few tatered 33 year old wires and had to ungum the carb. Man it felt good to hear it run again after 6 months of being idle. I don't have the front sheetmetal tightened down yet. Still doing some of those million alignment adjustments.
Oh I couldn't resist driving it a bit. The old 6 popper still has some life too. Laid down about a 20 foot strip of 275-60x15s with it. It was even worth the lecture from the wife about being a over grown 47yr old kid. YES!!!!!

For all you who have been bugging me. The F@rd blue Air cleaner has been refinished into chrome/silver. Adds about .005% in HP too.

It's nice to have one that moves again. Now I can fire up that new welder and begin on the bed and other body work. Sure is nice to get th bed out of 6 months growth of grass and in some protection. Been a good weekend. I'm alive and the truck is alive.

Thanks everyone. Sures feels like I'm getting some where.
Andy....It probably helps when it's hot and humid as heck....plus not so great tires. They are really greasy by nature...but they are just the rolling stock for now...But it sure is nice to let them rip. Or maybe it's the chrome paint on the air filter! Jason71K10...The gray seats (and belts) came out of a 93/94 Chevy 1500 extended cab. Only the driver's side is bolted down so far. Had to get some more bolts because of the extra mounts this seat has to the other bench I had in it.

Bill,
It looks good. Lets see a better view of the new seats installed. They look good thru the rear glass. That old 6 cyc will probably out live a couple v-8's. They just keep going and going..... I had one in a 73 Nova (once a long time ago) and it was a great running car. Did a burn out in front of the County Sheriff once (didn't see him hiding at a 4-way stop, looking for people running the stop signs) smoked the right rear for 25-30 ft. I get about 100 ft from the intersection and out of nowhere there is a Sheriff on my back bumper!!! He knew me (my aunt worked in his office) so he let me off without a ticket or anything. LOL. Thanks for the post on the seat packing. Woody |
