can the font vary on Vin plates???
can the font on the vin plate and the spid vary from different production facilities. I'm looking at 2 different 69's, one a Fremont, Ca truck and one a Baltimore truck. The 1's, 4's 8's are different btwn the two. Opened vs closed top 4's, round vs flat top 8's ect

Re: can the font vary on Vin plates???
Interesting observation. I don't know the answer definitively, so I'm in for others expertise. I did, however, look through the SPID picture thread here and did not see any variances in the numbers except for a few of the reproduction SPIDs shown that used a closed top 4.

Re: can the font vary on Vin plates???
I can say that the Baltimore tucks vin plate and spid are the same font as each other and the same is true for the California truck. Both have older looking faded spids and factory rivets. There prob legit I'm just being over cautious.

Re: can the font vary on Vin plates???
No, no I knew this would be confusing. The stamp and print on truck "A" match each other and the stamp and print on truck "B" match as well. But truck A's font doesn't match truck B's. Clear as mud now ))

Go here, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...highlight=spid, and compare your SPID with one from the same plant.
