700R4 behind a 250, will it work?
The title says it all. Do they make a TV cable hookup that will work with a 250? Will the combo work in a truck?

It would be an awsome combo, but you'll have to fab up the TV cable and stuff.

That's what I was thinking. Wonder if anyone has done the leg work on it?

Yup! I did it. Still have the truck with that setup. Just waiting for the new motor to go back in. Gets a little touchy if you are trying to run it with a Holley 4bbl, sideways. The first thing you need is 71-2 pedal assy (mine is a 69 and had linkage) and Lokar cable (s). You are going to be fabbing some brackets, etc.
The stock 250 did NOT like to pull the OD/4th gear...even with a 4:10 rear. The 292 was a real improvement and the 4bbl & headers just plain cured it. |

Just remember the old rule: "You can build a 6cyl to put out just as much power as a v8...it just costs twice as much money!"

Board member IRONBUTTLCMC did the same setup in his truck. PM him, he's a good guy.
